Australian politics `great war`

Opposition Labor Party leader Bill Shorten said the `corruption` among the leadership of the ruling Liberal Party is `eating alive` the Australian government.

Australia could be about to have its sixth prime minister in a decade after current Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced he would hold a meeting of the ruling Liberal Party on August 24 to see if he wins a majority of MPs.

Chaotic

August 23 continued to be another chaotic day in Canberra when three more ministers resigned and parliament suspended operations.

`Australians will be horrified by what they witness in their country’s parliament today` – Mr. Turnbull told the press.

On August 23, Mr. Turnbull affirmed that if he was removed from the position of prime minister, he would leave parliament – possibly immediately.

`I think it’s best for former prime ministers to leave parliament. If the Liberal Party has a new leader, that person will of course prove to the governor general that they can win a majority in parliament` – he

Three-way race

However, a complicated issue that must be mentioned is the `constitutional dark cloud` hanging over the head of the figure determined to overthrow the current prime minister.

This finance minister once headed the Ministry of Immigration and implemented a very tough policy of blocking ships carrying immigrants as well as arresting people seeking asylum on remote islands.

With 14 years in the ranks of the Liberal Party, Mr. Dutton has the same views on immigration as Mr. Morrison.

According to Reuters, the opposition Labor Party did not miss the opportunity to criticize the chaos in Canberra.
